What is Jiujitsu?
The Art Of Control That Leads To Submission.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a self-defence martial art and combat sport based on grappling, ground fighting, and submission holds. It is a predominantly ground-based martial art that uses the principles of leverage, angles, pressure and timing, as well as knowledge of the human anatomy, in order to achieve a non-violent submission of one’s opponent1. The Gracie family invented it in Brazil in the early twentieth century. It is well-known for its efficacy in self-defense and mixed martial arts (MMA) events.
